How Can severe Cough Along With Chest Pain Be Treated?

Hi. I am having hot flashes, coughing attacks that hurt my chest, sneezing, and fever. The hot flashes cause me to wake up dripping wet at times. I have been taking Nyquil and Alia Seltzer dusting the day to calm the symptoms. I am thinking I may have walking pneumonia or bronchitis. What do you think? I also work in an area that allows me to go from cold conditions to warm conditions. Anywhere from 32 degrees or higher.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Coughing along with chest pain and fever require further evaluation to rule out pneumonia.
Diagnosis is confirmed by chest xray, sputum analysis and culture.
Treatment with antibiotics is required if pnemonia is confirmed

Please follow up with primary care physician / urgent care for further evaluation and management.

Meanwhile, continue the cough supressentd you are using. You can also take Tylenol (if not allergic ) for pain and fever.

Hope I was able to answer your question
Please address any more concerns
Regards,
Dr.Lekshmi
